Desmond Henry, Ph.D, serves as the International Director of the Global Network of Evangelists, formerly known as the Next Generation Alliance. Desmond comes from South Africa where he trained as a Baptist Minister. He has served as a pastor in South Africa and Botswana and has planted and helped revitalize churches in Southern Africa since 2003 when he first entered ministry. His call to ministry is rooted in Romans 15:20 and he has mobilized hundreds of students from dozens of countries around the world to participate in short-term mission opportunities throughout Southern Africa.

Desmond served as a Professor of Missiology and as Provost at the Baptist Theological College of Southern Africa and has published over a dozen journal articles in accredited international journals. He is passionate about evangelism and missional ecclesiology, and is a regular contributor to articles on Christianity Today and regularly features on blogs and podcasts globally. Desmond serves on the Editorial Committee of Conspectus, the Journal of the South African Theological Seminary and serves as Extraordinary Senior Lecturer at the North-West University and a Guest Professor at Wheaton College.

Desmond is married to Lara and they have three daughters; Gabriella, Annabella, and Olivia.
